About the Death Cross signal
The Death Cross is the bearish counterpart to the Golden Cross: it occurs when the 50-period moving average falls below the 200-period moving average. It marks the moment the medium-term trend has weakened enough to drop beneath the long-term trend.
Both averages are slow, so the cross lags the actual high — it confirms a downtrend rather than predicting one — but that lag filters out most false alarms, which is why it is a staple for longer-term positioning. On the daily and weekly, a Death Cross has historically preceded extended declines. Orion lists every Binance pair where MA50 currently sits below MA200.
